Jessie Dellosa is new AFP Chief of Staff

President Benigno Aquino III on Monday appointed Lieutenant General Jessie Diaz Dellosa as the 43rd Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in ceremonies held in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

Jessie DellosaDellosa replaces retiring Chief of Staff General Eduardo Oban, Jr. who will reach the retirement age of 56 on Tuesday, December 13th.

In his speech, President Aquino expressed confidence that under the leadership of Dellosa, the AFP will be able to fully and professionally achieve its mandate of protecting the people.

The President said the principled and straight-forward leader that Dellosa is, will serve as the AFP’s anchor on which its advocacy and aspirations will be built on.

He told Dellosa to take to heart the concepts of bravery, integrity and honesty in order to achieve his sworn duty to the country and to the flag.

President Aquino assured Dellosa that he had his, the government’s and the people’s full support as he assumes the post of AFP Chief of Staff.

Dellosa is a member of Philippine Military Academy “Matapat” Class of 1979. Prior to his appointment, he was the commander of the Northern Luzon Command.

He was born in Bacon, Sorsogon in 1957 and is married to Mary Rose Fernandez with whom he has three children.
