SEA Games 2011 Update: Philippines U-23 Azkals Lose To Timor Leste

The Philippine under 23-years-old (U-23) Azkals football team lost to Timor Leste (East Timor), 1-2, in the 26th Southeast Asian Games 2011 tourney held at the Lebak Bulus Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia, on November 7, 2011.

Mid-fielder OJ Porteria successfully made the lone goal for the Philippines at the thirty sixth minute of the game, while Murilo de Almeida and Diogo Rangel contributed one goal each for Timor Leste at the 17th and 48th minute, respectively.

Monday's win enabled Timor Leste to climb to the top of the Group B rankings with 6 points. On the other hand, victory is still elusive for the Philippine team.

In the second game for the day, Laos will take on Brunei. The competition is being televised live on Studio 23 and AKTV. Replays are scheduled by the said TV stations.
