Arroyo Mug Shot: Discrepancies Between Fake and Authentic Photo Revealed!

The discrepancies between a fake and authentic Arroyo mug shot finally revealed!

Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s mug shot released in the internet is illegal and a violation of her right to privacy, Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago said.

“When the mug shot of the accused is taken, could it be a violation of her personal right to privacy if this is published? The answer is yes,” Senator Santiago told reporters.

She also questioned the newspaper and website that published the Arroyo mug shot.

“It is another question whether a newspaper or a website can publish a mug shot,” the lady senator said, pointing out that a mug shot “is not a usual, common photograph.”

“It already suggests guilt on the part of the person. What’s more is that it catches the individual at his most embarrassing moment,” she added.

The Philippine Daily Inquirer published Mrs. Arroyo’s mug shot both in its online and print versions, but noted that it “did not come from the Pasay City Regional Trial Court which has refused to release the police photos.”

The broadsheet claimed the photo were sent by sources “who requested anonymity.” The same copy of the mug shot was uploaded by the website www.mugshots.com.

Meanwhile, Philippine National Police Chief Director General Nicanor Bartolome said there were discrepancies with the captions of the official mug shot and the published version.

“I would like to state for the record that the published pictures are not the authentic mug shot photos of Representative Gloria Arroyo,” Bartolome said.

Arroyo Mug ShotThe PNP Chief told media that the published photo has “CONG GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO and CRIM CASE # R-PSY-11-04432-CR” printed on it while the original captions in the real mug shot are “GLORIA ARROYO Y MACAPAGAL and CC NR. R-PSY-11-04432.”

He added that the mysterious source of the photos is now being tracked.

The Chief PNP’s declaration supports Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo’s statement that the mug shot of the former president is fake.

According to reports, Robredo earlier said that the print on the unauthentic photos appeared to have been “Photoshopped.”
