Praybeyt Benjamin Gets “B” Grade From Cinema Evaluation Board

Praybeyt Benjamin, Vice Ganda’s ‘unkabogable’ movie under Star Cinema and Viva Films, is graded “B” by the Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB).

Grade “B” films* are eligible for 65 percent of the amusement tax collected, while the remaining 35 will be added to the funds of the council.

Not only it received a high rating, Praybet Benjamin also became an instant hit on opening day. Reports said the movie's gross ticket sales on the first day reached P24 Million.

During a recent press conference, Vice Ganda reportedly said he is confident “Praybeyt Benjamin” will be a blockbuster hit. He said it may even surpass the box-office record set by “No Other Woman” which starred Cristine Reyes, Anne Curtis and Derek Ramsay, his leading man in the comedy flick.

Directed by Wenn Deramas, Praybeyt Benjamin also stars Eddie Garcia, Jimmy Santos, Nikki Valdez, Kean Cipriano, DJ Durano, Vandolph Quizon, Carlos Agassi and Dennis Padilla.

“Praybeyt Benjamin” is being shown in cinemas nationwide.

*Films graded “A” and “B” by the Board are entitled to amusement tax reward that commensurate with the amusement tax levied on and collected from the films by Metro Manila cities and municipalities, and by other highly urbanized and independent component cities in the Philippines, pursuant to Sections 141 and 150 of Republic Act No. 7160.
