Bagyong Quiel PAGASA Update — October 2, 2011

Bagyong “Quiel” has weakened further into a Storm and continues to move farther away from the country, state weather bureau PAGASA reported on Sunday, October 2, 2011.

As of 11:00 p.m. today, Typhoon Quiel was spotted at 510 kilometers (km) West Northwest of Baguio City with maximum sustained winds of 105 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 135 kph. It is moving West at 20 kph, PAGASA said.

With this development, this is the final bulletin on this weather disturbance, PAGASA noted.

Typhoon “Quiel” will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon and brings rains over the western section of Southern Luzon.

Meanwhile, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 600 km East of Visayas, PAGASA added.
