While “Quiel” batters Luzon, “Ramon” will enter PAR

While Typhoon Quiel is expected to make landfall in the Cagayan-Isabela area by Saturday evening, another tropical depression to be called “Ramon” will enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), state weather bureau PAGASA reported.

Department of Science and Technology (DOST) undersecretary Graciano Yumul reportedly said TD “Ramon” will move towards the same areas to be hit by Quiel. Ramon's presence will be felt on Monday, Usec. Yumul added.

Meanwhile, PAGASA weather forecasters said Typhoon Quiel has become as strong as Pedring while at sea. It is expected to become stronger within the next 24 hours.
