Typhoon Pedring — PAGASA Update (September 28, 2011)

Typhoon “Pedring” continues to move away from the country and is now out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), weather forecasters at the Philippine Atmospheric and Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported on Wednesday, September 28, 2011.

At 5:00 pm today, PAGASA spotted the eye of Typhoon “Pedring” at 520 kilometers (km) West Northwest of Baguio City with maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph. It is moving West Northwest at 19 kph.

Public Storm Warning Signals elsewhere are now lowered, the weather bureau said, but Typhoon Pedring will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon and will bring scattered to widespread rains over the rest of Western Luzon, PAGASA added.
