On August 21, 2011, the Professional Regulation Commission - Board of Nursing (BoN) issued an advisory declaring the “simplification and cost saving measures in the conduct of oathtaking of new nurses all over the country.”
The idea was that passers of nursing board examinations (starting with the July 2011 Nurses Licensure Exam) may take an oath, individual or by group, at the same time of registration at PRC, which, in effect, scraps the costly “mass oathtaking” ceremony.

But on the 9th of September, the Baguio Regional Office posted in its official blog site an announcement that appears to be a sudden turnaround from the board's August 21 decision.
