YouTube sensation Maria Aragon and American Idol season 10 finalist Thia Megia, Filipinas who made their way into international stardom, were picked to sing the Philippines and United States' national anthems before the Pacquiao vs Marquez main event this November.
Aragon will be singing “Lupang Hinirang” while Megia will perform her own rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner.”
Maria Aragon has recently released her self-titled album under Star Records, the carrier single of which is her version of Lady Gaga's “Born This Way” that catapulted her to popularity.
The young singer has reportedly sought the assistance of the National Historical Institute (NHI) to learn the proper and correct way of singing the Philippine National Anthem.
Megia, meanwhile, performed with other season 10 finalists before thousands of Filipino fans during the two-night American Idol Live Tour concert at the Araneta Coliseum recently.
