Nursing Exam Results — UP Grad Tops July 2011 Exam

More than thirty seven thousand, or 37,513 to be exact, out of the 78,135 total number of examinees passed the Nurses Licensure Examination (NLE) held in various testing centers nationwide last July 2011.

This represents a forty eight percent (48%) national passing rate, which is 7% more than the turn out in the same period last year.

Jomel Lapides, a graduate of the University of the Philippines (U.P.) Manila, emerged as the cream of the crop—the July 2011 NLE Topnotcher—with a rating of 88.40%.

Hazel Crisostomo and Beverly Lynne Ong, both graduated from the University of Santo Tomas (UST), placed second with a rating of 87.40% each.

Third placer is Ivy Grace Lim, a graduate of Far Eastern University (FEU) Manila, who garnered an 87.20% rating.

Meanwhile, the PRC in an announcement released over the weekend said “all successful candidates in the examination shall be required to take an oath of professional before the Board or any government official authorized to administer oaths prior to entering upon the nursing practice” pursuant to Section 16, of Republic Act No. 9173, also known as the “Philippine Nursing Act of 2002.”
