Katy Perry wins Video of the Year award at 2011 MTV VMAs

Katy Perry did not perform at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, but, besides Adele, she dominated the show by winning three awards, including Video of the Year for “Firework.”

The 26-year-old singer, who has been a mainstay at the VMA since 2008, also snagged two more Moonmen for Best Collaboration and Best Special Effects for her sci-fi-themed “E.T.” music video featuring Kanye West.

The MTV Video Music Awards 2011 took place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles last Sunday, August 28. It honored the best music videos from the previous year.

Adele was the other biggest winner of the night, picking up four awards, including Best Direction and Best Editing for “Rolling in the Deep.” Next to Adele and Perry was Lady Gaga who brought home two awards, including Best Female Video for “Born This Way.”
