Virgilio Garcillano a 'liar' says Malacañang

Former Commission on Elections (Comelec) commissioner Virgilio Garcillano on Saturday resurfaced but denied involvement in the alleged cheating in the 2004 elections. Garci also reportedly said he did not go into hiding as there is no case relative to the supposed poll fraud filed against him in court.

Malacañang has reacted and said Garci is a “liar.”

Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda on his Twitter account (@dawende) said “Garci is a liar then, he is a liar now!”

At a press conference in Bukidnon shortly before 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Garci urged the entire nation, including Malacañang, to “move on.”

The ex-Comelec official also denied he had sent feelers to the Palace to provide it information that could help prove there was cheating in the 2004 presidential polls.

Lacierda's tweet in this regard was: “I confirmed with Sec. Ronald Llamas,it was Garci who sent feelers to his office. From Zaldy to Bedol to Santiago, they were never solicited.”

But Garci during the presscon said: “Nasabi ko na lahat ng sasabihin ko. Ano pa makukuha nila sa akin.”
