We've got some UAAP Season 74 updates for basketball fans out there. The UST Growling Tigers defeated the NU Bulldogs 73-72 in overtime in Thursday's first game. Point guard Jeric Fortuna scored 23 points, 19 of which were in the second half and 6 in overtime.
In the second game, the UP Fighting Maroons were able to break their losing streak with a win over the UE Red Warriors, 69-61. Mike Gamboa had 19 points in the game, UP's first win ever after almost 2 years!
ABS-CBN Sports said UP's last win in the UAAP was against the DLSU Green Archers, 83-78, at The Arena in San Juan City back in August 22, 2009.
