Typhoon Kabayan (Bagyong Kabayan Update) July 31, 2011

Update on Bagyong “Kabayan” as of Sunday, August 31, 2011. PAGASA in its severe weather bulletin/update said Typhoon “Kabayan” has maintained its strength as it moves in a Northeast direction.

At 11:00 p.m., the eye of Typhoon “Kabayan” was located based on satellite and surface data at 1,125 km East of Tuguegarao City (18.1°N, 133.6°E) with maximum sustained winds of 175 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 210 kph. It is forecast to move Northeast at 13 kph.

The state weather bureau has not raised a public storm warning signal and said this weather disturbance is too far to directly affect any part of the country.

Weather forecasters said the estimated rainfall amount is from 10 - 25 millimeters per hour within the 800 km diameter of the storm.
