Palace: No Deal With Zaldy Ampatuan in Massacre Case

MalacaƱang on Friday assured the families of victims in the gruesome Maguindanao killings that it will stay on their side despite former ARMM Governor Zaldy Ampatuan's offer to turn state witness. The victims' kin, relatives and their supporters had a meeting with President Benigno Aquino III Thursday.

Zaldy AmpatuanPresidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda in a press briefing at the Palace right after the meeting told reporters that President Aquino expressed his commitment to ‘do everything possible to get justice.’

Meanwhile, Maguindanao governor Ismael Mangudadatu, whose wife was one of the victims, claimed that the President as well as DOJ Secretary Leila de Lima and DILG Secretary Jessie Robredo made it clear that there is “no compromise between the Palace and Ampatuans regarding the Maguindanao massacre case.”
