Azkals vs Kuwait: Philippines to Bounce Back

After a nine-hour flight from Dubai, the Philippine Football Team Azkals have arrived home around midnight Sunday, a day after their disappointing loss to Kuwait in the first leg of the second round of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifier last Saturday, July 23.

The Philippines is set to battle Kuwait once they meet again at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium on Thursday, July 28.

The team will enjoy a homefield advantage with the expected support of a sell-out crowd of around 30,000 at the venue and tens of millions of fans watching on TV in the Philippines and around the world.

Despite of a heartbreaking loss over the weekend, the Azkals are optimistic that they can bounce back.

Team coach Hans Michael Weiss in an interview said that with Stephan Shrock and Aly Borromero playing again after serving a one-game suspension, the Azkals will be stronger.

Azkal James Younghusband, meanwhile, told reporters that the team will play solid defense and will be more aggresive on offense come Thursday.
