Tropical Storm Falcon: How To Help Victims

Following news of over 50,000 families displaced due to Tropical Storm “Falcon” which brought continuous rains in Metro Manila and other parts of the country, the Philippine National Red Cross said it is now accepting donations to help victims of the storm, Yahoo! News Philippines reported.

Gwendolyn Pang, secretary general of the Philippine National Red Cross, reportedly said that donations can now be sent through local networks Globe Telecom and Smart Communications.

The PNRC official said those who want to donate money can use their existing Smart and G-Cash accounts by sending an SMS.

The following format should be followed in sending donations:
  • Text RED<space>AMOUNT to 2899 (Globe) or 4143 (Smart)
For G-Cash users, they should send the following SMS format:
  • Text DONATE<space>AMOUNT<space>4-digit M-PIN<space>REDCROSS to 2882
PNRC added that donations can be in the following denominations: Globe: 5, 25, 100, 300, 500, or 1,000; and Smart: 10, 25, 50, 100, 300, 500, or 1,000.
