PAGASA Weather Update (June 24, 2011)

The weather bureau, PAGASA, says that as of 10:00 am today, Tropical Storm FALCON was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 330 km East of Basco, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph. It is forecast to move North Northwest at 19 kph.

Calayan, Babuyan Group of Islands and Batanes Group of Islands are still under Public Storm Warning Signal No. 1.

Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under signal # 1 were alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.

TS "FALCON" is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon and will bring rains over Luzon and Visayas.

PAGASA issued a Gale Warning over the eastern seaboard of the country and the western seaboard of Luzon and of Visayas.
