PMPC Star Awards for Movies 2011 Winners

The list of winners in the 27th PMPC Star Awards for Movies held last Friday, June 17, 2011, has been posted.

PMPC Star Awards 2011Previous post: Nominees in the various categories were revealed last April, but for the purpose of recall we're reposting them below.

One of the most-awaited is the result in the Movie Actress of the Year (best actress) category. Showbizlandia has been talking about Ai-Ai Delas Alas, who is nominated for “Ang Tanging Ina Mo, Last Na 'To,” and Angelica Panganiban for “Here Comes The Bride” as the closest contenders for the award.

Angelica was reportedly accused of giving away gift certificates worth P5,000 each to some press people who are also members of the panel of judges just to ensure that she will come out victorious.

Some showbiz reporters alleged that it was a form of ‘bribery’ on her part. The actress, however, during an interview shown on TV Patrol Wednesday denied the allegation noting that intrigues are normal and are merely part of show business.

Angelica reportedly admitted giving a gift check as a bday gift but it is not intended to buy the award at all.

She likewise refuted rumors about the “Angelica Panganiban video scandal 2011” which have been circulating in social networking sites, blogs and online fora since last week.
