Malacañang suspends work in all gov't offices in NCR

Due to continuous rains and flooding brought by Tropical Storm Falcon, Malacañang on Friday reportedly suspended work in all government offices in Metro Manila (NCR) effective 1 PM onwards. Suspension of work excludes health and emergency services, reports said.

The announcement was made by Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte, following the signing of Memorandum Circular No. 14 by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr., declaring the suspension of work.

“We have received word from the Office of the Executive Secretary that Memorandum Circular No. 14 has been signed by Executive Secretary Ochoa suspending work in government agencies in the National Capital Region from 1p.m. (Friday) onwards except in those involved in essential health and emergency duties and delivery of basic services,” Valte said.

Typhoon Falcon caused flash floods in many areas in Metro Manila.

In radio and TV reports, state weather bureau PAGASA said TS Falcon will continue to bring heavy rains in NCR and parts of western Luzon including Bataan, Pangasinan, Pampanga, Bulacan and Zambales on Saturday.

The NDRRC reported that 11 people have been missing and more than 32,000 families are affected by flooding.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) tweeted that number coding for Friday is lifted in Manila and San Juan.
