Willing Willie out, Wiltime Bigtime in

A troubled television show, which is chased by controversies and criticisms, should be axed; otherwise, ratings and commercials would be compromised. TV5 and Wil Productions probably considered this rationale that led to a decision to drop “Willing Willie” and replace it with “Wiltime Bigtime.”

TV5's controversial primetime game show, hosted and co-produced by singer-comedian Willie Revillame, will not anymore be using “Willing Willie” as its title once it goes back on air effective Saturday, May 14. Instead, it will be relaunched using a new title, “Wiltime Bigtime.

Veteran talk show host Cristy Fermin, a very close friend of Revillame, made the announcement at Juicy Express on TV5 last Monday.

“Binigyan tayo ng pagkakataon at oportunidad ni Willie Revillame na unang i-announce dito sa ‘Juicy Express’ na magbabalik na po siya sa [Mayo] katorse… Sabado ‘yan,” Fermin reportedly said.

The tv/radio host added that the new show will still occupy the same timeslot at 6:30 PM on weekdays.

The soon-to-be a defunct show is presently complying a 30-day suspension order imposed by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) since April 11 brought about by the widely-discussed “Jan-Jan incident.”
