'Chedeng' intensifies, Signal No. 1 up in 4 areas

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) early Tuesday morning reports that as of 7AM of May 24, Tropical Storm “Chedeng” was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 520 kilometers East of Borongan, Eastern Samar.

PAGASA said Bagyong Chedeng has intensified as it moved westward. Public Storm Warning Signal No. 1 is now up in four areas namely Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Catanduanes and Sorsogon.

Signal 1 has 30 up to 60 kilometers per hour (kph) wind strength.
