Comelec sets May 28 special elections in 1st district of Ilocos Sur

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) on Monday posted the Calendar of Activities and Periods of Certain Prohibited Acts in connection with the May 28, 2011 Special Elections for Member, House of Representatives in the first district of Ilocos Sur.

The special elections will be held to elect a replacement for former representative Ronald Singson who resigned from his post after getting convicted for drug trafficking in Hong Kong.

The poll body has scheduled May 9 to 13 as the period for filing of Certificate of Candidacy (CoC) for those who are interested to run for the congressional seat.
