SC to release 2010 Bar Exam results Thursday

The Supreme Court on Wednesday posted on its website that it is set to announce on Thursday, March 17, the results of the 2010 Bar Examinations held on all four Sundays of September (September 5, 12, 19, and 26) last year at the De La Salle University (DLSU) in Taft Avenue, Manila.

Supreme Court LogoChief Justice Renato C. Corona has set a special En Banc session for the “decoding” of Bar results today at 8 a.m.

Deputy Clerk of Court and Bar Confidant Atty. Ma. Cristina B. Layusa explained that the directive to decode “is when the Court orders the Bar Confidant to open envelopes containing the names of the examinees in the presence of the Bar Chairman.”

The list of successful Bar examinees, according to the SC, will be shown on three LCD monitors set up at the Supreme Court front yard and can simultaneously be viewed at the official website of the Supreme Court.

In September 2010, a total of 4,847 examinees finished taking the tests in all eight subjects in the field of law. Originally, 5,038 law graduates have filed their petitions to take the 2010 Bar tests. Of the number, 5,012 petitions were granted, the SC said.

The SC added that during the first Bar Sunday, 156 examinees absented themselves, leaving the number of examinees to 4,856. Nine other have dropped out, further reducing the number of examinees to 4,847.

SC Justice Conchita Carpio Morales is the Chairperson of the 2010 Committee on the Bar Examinations.

The list of bar passers will be posted on this page while the topnotchers will be posted on this page.
