Yesterday, we blogged about the 7-division world champ joining Twitter last February 20; but the boxing legend during a TV interview confirmed that he signed-up with Twitter only on February 23. Pacquiao said he has nothing to do with the much discussed @mannypacquiao account.
More than ten thousand people were tricked by the sham (that include us). Whose mistake was that?
Twitter. The micro-blogging site mistakenly `verified´ the fake account. However, the verification seal (check icon) has already been removed.
The boxing superstar said his official Twitter account is “Emmanuel D. Pacquiao, ‘@congmp’”. He has almost 5,000 followers as of this writing, and the number is growing despite the absence of a `verified´ label.
Pacquiao's latest tweet, sent via his Blackberry phone 25 minutes ago from this posting, is: “Hindi pa ako masyadong maronong mag twit kinakapa ko pa (I still do not know how to tweet well but I'm working on it) hehe thanks. [Translation supplied]
