Speak To Tweet (Speak2Tweet)

With a hope to enable more Egyptians to be heard and stay connected amid the ongoing street protests and riots in Cairo, Google has come up with the idea of a Speak-To-Tweet service. The search and softwares giant says it gives users the ability for anyone to tweet using a voice connection.

“We worked with a small team of engineers from Twitter, Google and SayNow, a company we acquired last week, to make this idea a reality,” SayNow co-founder Ujjwal Singh and Google product manager for the Middle East AbdelKarim Mardini revealed in a blog post on January 31st.

According to them, Speak2Tweet is already live. We checked it out and indeed, the service already has a lot of tweets converted from voice calls at SayNow.com, mostly Egyptians from in and outside of Cairo.
