Party-list group A-Teacher Inc., represented in the lower house by congressmen Julieta Cortuna and Mariano Piamonte, unveiled on Monday a bill seeking to provide “insurance to train passengers who meet accidents on board,” ABS-CBN News reported.
The proposed bill entitled “Insurance for Railway Passengers Act” (IRPA) would entitle injured passengers to hospitalization benefits of P1,500 per day of hospitalization, the report said.
The group revealed that death benefits of as much as P200,000 will be given to spouses and children of train accident casualties.
