Pacquiao-Mayweather match loses luster

Boxing promoter Bob Arum says the Manny Pacquiao versus Floyd Mayweather Jr. match, which failed to happen twice already, is a much sought “Fight of the Century.” A Friend of Mine (FM), who two years ago was very excited to see the fight, says otherwise.

FM during a casual conversation told me that he thinks boxing fans are already “sick and tired” of the media hype for “a match that will never happen.” FM asked, “How will it push through when Mayweather is `too afraid of Pacquiao´ and he keeps on looking for excuses so he will not lose his record of being `unbeaten´?”

“Kapag gusto maraming paraan; kapag ayaw maraming dahilan,” FM said in Filipino.

Media reports reveal that Arum is now working closely with Don King so that Pacquiao and Mayweather “will eventually come to an agreement.”

FM commented, “Never mind, I am not interested [to watch the fight] anymore.”

Well, that's his opinion.
