SEO No-No: Posts on UFC Live Streaming

I have a friend who used to blog about Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) matches and live streaming. At first, he was able to get high traffic from internet users from the US. His blog had a high Page Rank and his posts about any given topic always land in the first page of the Search Engine Results Page (SERP).

He enjoyed it until the 3rd quarter of 2010. I discovered lately that his blog was among those whose posts about UFC live streaming were taken down by Google due to copyright infringement in violation of the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

In effect, his posts about UFC live streams were removed in Google SERPs. At the same time, his blog's PR and Alexa ranking went down and, therefore, his blogging income/earnings decreased.
