A prediction or forecast, Wikipedia writes, is “a statement about the way things will happen in the future, often but not always based on experience or knowledge.” Many predictions don't come true but some cover a range of possibilities. Last year, we predicted that the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. will not push through in 2010.

- iPad 2.0 - Apple will release the second version of its highly successful tablet computer sometime in the third quarter of 2011. Expect a 7-inch screen, an enhanced Retina Display 2.0 and Facetime 2.
- iPhone 5 - The next generation iPhone will be out probably in the second quarter of 2011. The new features and specs will include 4G compatibility, iOS 5, Flash support, 8 megapixel camera, 64 and 128 GB versions, support for biometric phone security.
- Nokia N8i - Nokia, the largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world, will release the enhanced version of Nokia N8, the Nokia N8i, which will fix the freeze problem of its predecessor. The new smartphone will run on Maemo mobile operating system instead of Symbian OS, making it faster and more stable like the N900.
- SMART Bro Plan 999 and WiMax - It was written on a national paper 2 or 3 years ago that broadband internet in the Philippines will have speeds of up to 12 Mbps for a standard prize of P999 eight to ten years from now. Since it will already be 2011, Smart Bro Plan 999 and WiMax might increase its speed up to 3Mbps early next year.
- Manny Pacquiao vs Mayweather Jr. Mega Fight - Finally, the most-anticipated match will be slated sometime in November 2011. The number of spectators will reach a historical high. Mayweather will win in that fight (will be a controversial upset) but boxing fans will demand a rematch which will happen in 2012. Pacquiao will win in the rematch. It will be his last fight. Afterwhich, the Filipino champ will retire.
- Hollywood - An award coveted actress will meet death in a car accident.
- Sarah Geronimo - The Popstar Princess will transfer to her new home TV5, which will finally end all speculations and rumors. She will be joined by a male singer/actor/model.
- Regine Velasquez - Asia's Songbird, Regine Velasquez will leave GMA 7 for ABS-CBN. She will be joining the already star-studded Sunday afternoon variety show, ASAP. Party Pilipinas, on the other hand, will reformat.
- A big name in showbiz, a comedian, will pass away.
- Justin Bieber - This year's American Music Awards artist of the year will release a remake of a Michael Jackson song in 2011. The album where the song is included will surpass all his previous albums in popularity and sales.
- Philippine Peso - The peso will be stronger against the dollar at $1 = P41. Import on tech gadgets, particularly smartphones and tablet computers will increase.
- The Philippine economy will be better in 2011.
