What comes to your mind if I mention Google? Of course “search” or “Android,” and for the inclined, “Blogger.” What about cars? Huh? Yeah, cars! The company today unveiled the car that can drive itself using a Google artificial intelligence software. Read more details and watch the video after the jump.
According to a New York Times report, the car “is a project of Google, which has been working in secret but in plain view on vehicles that can drive themselves, using artificial-intelligence software that can sense anything near the car and mimic the decisions made by a human driver.”
The project is the brainchild of Google engineer Sebastian Thrun who at the same time is the director of the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.
Google is using six Priuses and an Audi TT in the project, the report said.
