'Major Major' now a pop expression

Philippines' Venus Raj won as fourth runner up in the Miss Universe 2010 beauty pageant held at the Mandalay Bay in Vegas on August 23. Everyone at home were in high spirits until the question and answer portion came. Hollywood actor William Baldwin was picked to throw the question on Venus.

William asked: "What is one big mistake that you've made in your life and what did you do to make it right?"

Venus answered: "You know what Sir, in my 22 years of existence, I can say that there is nothing major, major I mean problem that I have done in my life because I am very confident with my family with the love that they are giving to me. So thank you so much that I am here! Thank you, thank you so much."

Beautiful pinay blogger "kayeshayne21", who blogs at YouSayToo.com thinks it would [have been] better if she answered like this:
Maybe my biggest mistake is when I almost surrendered to fight for my crown as Bb. Pilipinas Universe after they dethroned me for my title... but thanks to my Best friend, Melody Gersbach who died last August 21, 2010 on [a] car accident for pushing me and believing in me that I can take the crown of Miss Universe 2010, and this is it.. I'm closer to that title.. Thank you very much!"
That, I think, is the best among thousands of unsolicited "advises" from various sources on the world wide web.

Meanwhile, most probably reacting to posts in social networking sites on Venus' answer during the Q&A portion, talk show host Boy Abunda during his program Showbiz News Ngayon (SNN) on ABS-CBN on Tuesday evening said: "Let's not be hard, she did the best she could."

Good point - concise and true. In a competition like that, anything can happen even if you're the smartest girl on earth.

Anyway, one thing's for sure. Right about now you'll start to hear people using the expression "major major" anywhere you go. It could be the new word of the year. What do you think?
