YouTube adds Google Moderator

YouTube, the world's largest video hosting site, announced Thursday the integration of Google Moderator into every YouTube channel. Moderator is 'a versatile, social platform' that allows users to 'solicit ideas' and lets the community interact in real-time.

How Google Moderator works

"You set the parameters for the dialogue, including the topic, the type of submissions, and the length of the conversation. Watch as submissions get voted up or down by your audience, and then respond to the top-voted submissions by posting a video on your channel. The platform operates in real-time, and you can remove any content that you or your audience flag as inappropriate. You can also embed the platform on your own website or blog," explain YouTube news manager Olivia Ma and product manager Ginny Hunt at the official blog.

Further, an introduction at YouTube Help reads:

"Moderator allows any YouTube user to collect commentary, questions, or ideas on your YouTube channel and watch the best ones rise to the top. It's easy - you bring a group of people together on a topic of your choice, and leverage their collective wisdom to vote on the best video and text submissions. You can respond to individual submissions, or the entire conversation, in a one-to-many dialogue."
