Typhoon Agaton (Bagyong Agaton) Update

TYPHOON in the mid of El Niño - a blessing in disguise? We will post news updates, storm signal warning and advisory from the Pagasa weather bureau as the tropical depression east of Visayas has entered the Philippine area of responsibility and was named "AGATON".

At 4:00 a.m. today, 26 March 2010, Tropical Storm "AGATON" (OMAIS) was estimated at 860 kms East Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes (17.1°N, 132.6°E) with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is forecast to move North Northeast at 11 kph. Cold front affecting Northern Luzon.

At 11:00 a.m today, 26 March 2010, Tropical Storm "AGATON" has maintained its strength as it continues to move away from the country.
