15 Million Filipinos Join Earth Hour 2010

ABS-CBN, who covered the program at the SM Mall of Asia, reported during its news break that an estimated fifteen million (15M) Filipinos countrywide participated the Earth Hour 2010 on Saturday, March 27th.

Earth Hour
For one hour from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m., households and business establishments nationwide turned-off the lights and electrical devices. This is the Philippines' contribution for the protection, care and preservation of the environment and a collective pledge of support for global talks on climate change.

In Mindanao, everyday there seems to be an Earth Hour as people here are experiencing power curtailment, which is commonly known as rotational brownouts, at a frequency of 2 to 4 hours a day that started in early March.

How about in your place? Did you participate in this year's Earth Hour?
