Facebook Philippines

FacebookPOSIBLE! That, after the world's largest social network with more than 400 million users worldwide, announced the establishment of two new offices located outside of their Palo Alto, Calif., headquarters and in addition to its office in Dublin, Ireland.

"As more and more people share and connect on Facebook, we are growing our operations and teams to support them around the world. Just last week, we announced plans to invest in a new Austin, Texas, office, and today in India we unveiled our intentions to open an office in Hyderabad," Don Faul, director of global online operations at Facebook, posted on Sunday.

Why India?

"The new offices come at a significant time in our international growth. Seventy percent of the people using Facebook are outside the U.S. and are accessing the service from more than 70 languages. In India alone, we've seen rapid growth and now have more than 8 million people there actively connecting on Facebook with their friends, family, and other people they know, both within India and around the globe," Faul explained.

According to some sources, although it remains to be a rumor having no official statement from Facebook whatsoever, the company has intentions to add two more branches, one in Canada and another one in the Philippines considering the high number of Facebook users in these locations.

Facebook brings significant development in the countries where they have put up new offices, particularly in jobs and income generation.

"Both of these offices will allow us to better serve the more than 400 million of you now using Facebook worldwide, as well as our growing number of advertisers and developers. We are now hiring people to join the online sales and operations teams that we're forming in these new locations" Faul wrote.

Information about job opportunities at Facebook in both Texas and India are available at www.facebook.com/careers.

We wholeheartedly welcome and fully support Facebook's global expansion. If and when the company pushes through any plan of having an office in the Philippines, it would be a right decision for them as Filipinos are well-known to be hardworking and competent when it comes to I.T. and social networking. Correct?
