How to Fix Windows 7 Black Screen of Death using System Restore (assuming you did not disable it)
  1. First, you have to set the DVD-ROM to boot first [link].
  2. Insert your Windows 7 installer DVD.
  3. Click 'Repair your computer', click 'Next'.
  4. Select 'System Restore', click 'Next'.
  5. Choose a restore point, click 'Next'.
  6. To confirm your restore point, click 'Finish'.
  7. A prompt will appear, click 'Yes'.
  8. System restore will initialize. Once the task is done, the computer will automatically restart and the system will be restored.
