Quiet Busy

First of all, I would like to apologize to readers and visitors because I have not updated this blog since five days ago. There are two important reasons behind my 'absence', which I will reveal right now.

Reason No. 1

Smartbro has been very slow since the evening of Friday, October 9th. I thought it was just a temporary downtime but it's not. I called up Smartbro Customer Service a couple of times already but they just told me to monitor the connection.

The CS representative said that there is a problem with the base station where I am hooked up and that the technical department is currently fixing it blah blah blah.

That was four days ago. Today, the connection is still very very slow. It would take almost forever to open a web page. My friends from other places texted me about the same experience. This means that the problem isn't isolated.

Is Smartbro back to its 'turtle-like' speed?

Reason No. 2

I joined a team that conducted a Computer Literacy Program and Blogging Seminar during the weekend, October 10-11th.

Thanks to Congresswoman Thelma Almario of the 2nd District of Davao Oriental who sponsored the event, we were able to hold the seminar for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) coordinators from the Department of Education, particularly from the public high schools, and for the Out-of-School Youth (OSY) selected by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Together with Vice Governor Mayo Almario of the Province of Davao Oriental, who has a local program called 'MAYOng Edukasyon para sa MAYOng Kaugmaon' (Quality Education for a Brighter Future), I have designed the seminar to provide the attendees with enhanced ICT education and awareness on alternative livelihood opportunities through blogging.

Blogging SeminarBlogging SeminarIn the coming weekend, October 17-18th, we will conduct the same seminar for Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairmen coming from the barangay level.

Those are the reasons why I am quiet busy these days. I trust that you will understand if I may not be able to post in the next few days. I promise to catch up and update this blog when everything's done.
