I was wondering why Eset Nod32 kept on blocking dg.specificclick.net and afe.specificclick.net addresses yesterday. The Nod32 notification popped up everytime I visit my blog and SiteMeter.com among other sites.
I was worried and somehow annoyed so I searched the web for answers.
I found out that dg.specificclick.net and afe.specificclick.net with the IP 209.85.66.221:80 are tracking cookies that are triggered by ads on legitimate websites like SiteMeter. That was why the ads on SiteMeter were blocked by Nod32.
This morning, after Nod32 downloaded its latest virus signatue, Update 4324 (20090811), the problem was fixed.
Anyone had the same experience?
Update: I have finally removed the SiteMeter javascript code after reading an old article about the alledged spyware tracking cookie. Now, visitors of this blog don't have to worry anymore of getting infected.
