UPCAT: How To Register Online

As the premier State University, the University of the Philippines (UP) offers a wide range of degree programs, most of which require qualification through the U.P. College Admission Test (UPCAT). Here's how to register for UPCAT online.

1. Make sure you are qualified to take the UPCAT otherwise you will be wasting your time. The following are the specific requirements for UPCAT eligibility.

A. You must belong to one of the categories listed below:
  • Senior student (e.g., Fourth Year, Grade 12, Senior 6) of DepEd-accredited schools or secondary schools abroad (expecting to graduate at the end of the school year);
  • Graduates of DepEd-accredited schools or secondary schools abroad; or
  • Those declared eligible for admission to college after taking the Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT).
B. You must also have:
  • Final grades for the First, Second and Third Year of the 4-year secondary school curriculum in schools with DepEd recognition/permit to operate said curriculum (or Grades 9, 10 and 11 or their equivalent for international or foreign schools); and,
  • Not taken the UPCAT previously.
Important: Graduates of DepEd-accredited schools or secondary schools abroad and those declared eligible for admission to college after taking the PEPT
  • must not have taken any college subject/s previously;
  • must not be taking any college subject/s at present; and
  • will not be taking any college subject/s prior to the semester/academic year for which the UPCAT is to be taken.
2. Make sure your Internet Explorer or Firefox browser is updated. Have the Javascript and cookies enabled so that the data you submit is complete and accurate. The UPCAT Online Registration website uses Javascript and cookies to check/validate your data.

3. Have all your high school records ready. You need these as you will be supplying your secondary scholastic data in the application process.

4. Now, if you're ready, go to the Online Application page or simply CLICK HERE and read all the instructions carefully before accepting the Terms and Conditions and before clicking the 'Go to Account Creation' button.
