Registry Hack to Reduce Lag

I was browsing around Youtube when I happen to watch a video which presented a registry hack that reduces lag of online games.

The video author used the hack with Windows Vista. What I'm going to introduce to you is a registry hack for XP because I haven't migrated to Vista.

Here's how:
  • Go to Start > Run then type regedit.
  • In the Registry Editor, expand:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSMQ\Parameters
  • Highlight 'Parameters' and in the right pane, right click an empty space and create a new 'DWORD' entry, put a Hexadecimal value of 1, as follows:
TCPNoDelay (see the image).

  • Restart computer.
  • Next, expand:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\
Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces
  • In the available keys, look for one which shows your tcpip settings (see the example below).
  • Highlight that key and in the right pane, right click in an empty space and create the following 'DWORD' entries, put a Hexadecimal value of 1.
TCPAckFrequency
TCPNoDelay

  • Restart computer.
The next time you play online games, you will notice that lag is reduced if not totally eliminated.

Enjoy playing!
