VIRAL: PAL flight crew, passengers help unpaid, weeping OFW

The crew and passengers of a Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight helped a weeping overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who was sent home unpaid.

In this video posted by Facebook user Jrm Jayjay, who was on the same plane, two PAL flight attendants are seen offering cash to a woman who is said to hail from the province of Cagayan Valley.

In a reply to a comment, Jayjay said the crew fervently asked the passengers to lend a sincere gesture of goodwill for the distressed OFW. In the middle of the clip, the stewardess said: "Thank you everybody."

The identity of the poor woman was not mentioned. It's been said that her unscrupulous employer did not pay the salary she deserved.

Fellow OFWs advised her to seek assistance and avail of the OFW benefits from the Overseas Worker Welfare Administration (OWWA).

The video, which runs for one and a half minutes, garnered thousands of reactions and over 328,000 views on Facebook as of 3 a.m. today.
