Duterte admin to lengthen passport, driver's license validity

The incoming administration of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte plans to lengthen the validity of Philippine passports and driver's licenses.

Incoming budget secretary Benjamin Diokno said he will immediately endorse the measure to the president once he assumes office, Bombo Radyo reported.

From three years, he will recommend that driver's licenses will be valid up to five years, while renewal of passports will be every ten years from the current 5-year validity.

Aside from these, the incoming budget secretary said the new administration is planning to lower the income tax and provide a solution to the worsening traffic condition in Metro Manila.

Diokno pointed out that they will do all these after President Duterte vowed end to suffering of Filipinos.
