Should the Comelec penalize KathNiel for election selfies?

Should the Commission on Elections (Comelec) penalize Kapamilya stars Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla for their election selfies?

Known collectively as KathNiel, the showbiz couple is in hot water after photos of them proudly showing their ballots circulated in social media. Kathryn was also photographed wearing ballers while casting her vote.

Both are supporters and endorsers of Liberal Party standard bearer Mar Roxas and his running mate, vice presidential candidate Leni Robredo.

Earlier, the Comelec said voters are strictly not allowed to bring cellular phones inside the polling precincts and are prohibited to take selfie photos and pictures with their ballots. Wearing of ballers is also not allowed, the poll body said.

KathNiel's photos were already seen by the Comelec. Its spokesperson, James Jimenez, tweeted: "kathryn and daniel and i need to talk."

Should the Comelec sue and penalize KathNiel? What do you think?
