'Gasoline Boy' CJ Querol becomes latest social media sensation

SEAOIL gasoline boy CJ Querol became a trending topic on Twitter after getting featured on the primetime newscast TV Patrol on Tuesday night.

The hunk gas station employee first got netizens' attention earlier this month when Facebook user Glenda Uchi posted a photo that shows him refilling their car's tank at a branch of SEAOIL in EDSA.

Reports said Querol has been working at the fuel company for about three years. He is not a model but he helped the branch in its marketing stints.

After photos of the good-looking gasoline boy went viral on Facebook, customers started asking about him. According to a co-worker, his popularity helped boost their sales. Not only that, he has also drawn the interest of Filipino designer Francis Libiran who saw the qualities of a model in him.

But behind his success is a sad story. In an interview aired on the news program's Panalo 'To segment, Querol revealed that he comes from a broken family. His father left them when he was still 12 years old.

Querol was supposed to be in second year high school but gave way so that his siblings can go to school. The unfortunate situation forced him to drop out and look for a job.

The gasoline boy said he wants to continue schooling and finish his education to uplift his family from poverty.
