WATCH: ABS-CBN news anchor Noli De Castro 'endorses' Duterte on TV Patrol

ABS-CBN news anchor Noli "Kabayan" De Castro has reportedly endorsed presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte on TV Patrol.

The veteran broadcaster mentioned the presidential front-runner before he delivered his closing spiel during the April 20 newscast.

"Hindi ho ito biro. Sana tig-iisang magpahayag ang mga kandidato sa pagkapangulo, sa pangunguna ni Duterte [This is not a joke. I hope every presidential candidate will talk about it, with the leadership of Duterte," he said.

De Castro, who served as the country's 14th vice president from 2004 to 2010 under the Arroyo administration, got fed up of the "tanim-bala" scam at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and seems to have acknowledged that only Duterte can put an end to this pernicious bullet planting operation at NAIA, said to be one of the worst airports in the world.

This happened after a 75-year-old woman, Salvacion Cortabista from Antipolo, was caught with a 38-caliber bullet at NAIA on April 19.

The bullet was seen in the senior citizen's shoulder bag through the third and final x-ray scanner at NAIA Terminal 1. She was supposed to go on vacation in the United States with her husband, Esteban, but was offloaded from a Korean Airline flight because of the incident.

Apparently, the news personality said the chief of the Office of the Transport Security at NAIA should be the one to be jailed instead of the screening personnel, probably thinking that the OTS head is incompetent.

De Castro's daughter, Kat, who hosted several shows produced by ABS-CBN subsidiary Bayan Productions, Inc., is a known supporter and social media "keyboard warrior" of Duterte.

Media people must show no political leanings, but we believe that the words that came out of De Castro's mouth came from his heart.
