Kris Aquino leaves ABS-CBN, quits showbiz

In a series of Instagram posts, actress and televison host Kris Aquino has announced that she will leave ABS-CBN and quit show business.

"Our relationship as a family started October 28, 1996 and it will soon end this March 23, 2016. A total of 10,354 days working for ABS-CBN, my life's most fulfilling professional journey because of your love, acceptance and loyalty," she posted on Tuesday, March 8.

"Just like all of you, I love my FAMILY. My most valuable life destiny is to be Mama to KUYA JOSH and BIMBY, and to be a loving, selfless sister to ATE, PINKY, NOY and VIEL: a BUNSO who doesn't give them constant worry because of my health and safety," Kris said.

"I'm not putting a time frame, but with my type of work, it's realistic to accept by leaving ABS-CBN. I'll be replaced and soon forgotten... My sons and I will travel, we'll move to our new home, and I'll eat healthy, sleep early, exercise regularly, and live quietly-everything to make sure Kuya Josh and Bimb have a healthy mother," goes her third message.

"I am grateful to my endorsements for sticking it out with me while I work on my longterm health and wellness," she posted.

"THIS ISN'T GOODBYE-this is I hope you'll miss me & I hope to see you again, soon. My not so healthy heart wants to thank all of you for your LOVE, for me, my family & my work. I'LL BE BACK W/ A 100% HEALTHY HEART SO I CAN LOVE ALL OF YOU EVEN MORE & for much longer. Until then, #LOVELOVELOVE," her open letter reads.

Kris then hinted that she will focus "as a businesswoman, entrepreneur, employer, and optimist in the economy & future of our country."

"I met w/ Potato Corner president Joe Magsaysay, Friday, March 4. We are partners in expansion and opening our 2nd PC+NachoBimby in SM North Edsa this May 2016. We are expanding, 3 more storefronts in Mall Cinema Areas in Q3 of 2016... I own the Chowking franchise in AliMall, co-own Mang Inasal in Anonas, and my goal to own a Jollibee in my home province of Tarlac seems meant to be this 2016. I need to continue being a WORKING MOM since I'm the SOLE PROVIDER for my sons, but for now I'll do it away from the stress of the limelight," she added.

This is not the first time that the 45-year-old actress-TV host announced she will take a break from showbiz. She did it in 2013 after a spat with her former husband, James Yap, and in 2010 when her brother, Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III was elected as president.
