VIDEO: Man falls off skywalk while removing Sinulog tarp

Video captured an incident where a man fell off a skywalk roof in Cebu after he was zapped by electricity while removing a Sinulog tarpaulin.

The incident took place around 11:30 a.m. last January 19 at Osmeña Boulevard in the Queen City of the South, according to a news report on The Freeman.

The victim, identified as Noli Cesiban, married and a resident of Sitio Tabay Lawom, Barangay Tisa, Cebu City, likely touched a live wire when he tried to remove the tarpaulin.

In the video, which went viral only recently, Cesiban is seen hanging on for dear life on the roof of the skywalk. He stayed unconscious for several minutes before the rescuers arrived.

Personnel from the Cebu City Emergency Medical Services and Department of Health region 7 were apparently in the process of preparing a blanket to catch him when he fell.

The victim was brought to the Intensive Care Unit of Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for treatment. He suffered serious burns caused by electricity and injuries because of the fall.

Based on the video, it appears that the rescuers came unprepared as it took them a long time to take action to prevent the victim from falling.
