The 25-year-old beauty queen bested 80 candidates from other nations and succeeded fellow Filipina Jamie Herrell, who bagged the title last year.

The other winners are Brazil's Thiessa Sickert (Miss Earth Fire), USA's Brittany Payne (Miss Earth Water), and Australia's Dayanna Grageda (Miss Earth Air).

The victory of Ong, a marketing management student at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in Manila, marked the first time that a country won back-to-back titles in the history of Miss Earth since it started in 2001.

Miss Earth is considered as one of the four largest beauty pageants in the world which include Miss Universe, Miss World, and Miss International.

A replay of the competition where the Philippines' Angelia Ong was named Miss Earth 2015 will be aired Sunday morning on ABS-CBN, before ASAP.
