FTW: Duterte tops latest SWS presidential survey

If surveys translate into votes, Davao City Mayor Rody Duterte would be a sure winner. The leading presidentiable topped the latest SWS poll.

In the nationwide survey conducted by the Social Weather Sations in the last week of November, Duterte emerged as the top choice of voters, garnering 38 percent.

It's a double digit lead over his contenders senator Grace Poe, whose candidacy has been disqualified by a Comelec division recently, and vice president Jejomar Binay, who got 21% each.

Administration bet Mar Roxas received 15% while the cancer-stricken senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago only got 4 percent of votes.

SWS ran the survey from November 26 to 28, nearly a week after Duterte finally decided to file his certificate of candidacy for president via candidate substitution.

It was at the same time that Manila Broadcasting Co. (MBC) and its flagship station dzRH commissioned a pre-election survey, in which Duterte emerged as the winner with 30.25% of 7,436 respondents.

Trailing him are Senator Poe with 25.14 percent, followed by Binay with 18.63 percent, Roxas with 14.92 percent, and Santiago with 6.22 percent.

Emeer 2 Research Services reportedly conducted face-to-face interviews during the survey.
